De Luca Corporation awarded construction of Home Focus Precinct Pimpama

Baycrown Property Group has awarded construction of Stages 1-3 of Home Focus Pimpama to De Luca Corporation.

Stage 1 of the $200 million project commenced in December 2020, with completion of the suburb’s first Bunnings Warehouse, a Drive Thru Guzman & Gomez and a BP Service Station.

Stage 2 is underway with delivery of a health and wellbeing hub and is expected to reach completion by early December 2021.

De Luca Corporation Founder and Managing Director Nic De Luca said, “We have enjoyed working closely with Baycrown on this exciting development and bringing our extensive Large Format Retail, fuel and fast-food expertise to the project.”

Home Focus Pimpama sits on a 24-hectare block and will provide about 50,000 sqm of lettable area featuring up to 60 tenancies ranging in sizes from 200sqm to 2,000 sqm once fully developed to meet the rising demand for local services in the Gold Coast’s booming north.

Committed retailers include Officeworks, Petbarn, RSEA with other Large Format Retailers to come as the precinct develops over time.

Baycrown Development Manager Greg McDonald says the project has struck a chord with national tenants who have identified the rapid expansion of the once quiet semi-rural suburb into an emerging urban community.

“This is an area that has grown faster than anyone could have anticipated over the past five years, where retail amenities and services haven’t kept up with demand, said Mr McDonald.

“For many of our tenants, establishing a footprint in the northern Gold Coast is a strategic move aimed at capitalising on the growth yet to come.”

The Home Focus Pimpama master plan designed by Paul Ziukelis Architects incorporated pedestrian and bicycle linkages, generous landscaping elements and a capacity to accommodate 1,250 customer car parks.

“Our plan from the outset was to create a vibrant and engaging homemaker centre with a high level of amenity and destination appeal,” said Mr McDonald.

“The tenant mix has been carefully chosen to reflect this as Home Focus Pimpama will bring together some of Australia’s best Large Format Retail tenants including electrical, furniture, homewares and adventure outlets, along with smaller convenience-driven tenants including food, medical and fuel, to create a balanced development with lifestyle appeal.”

Home Focus Pimpama is set to create a number of new jobs for the growing catchment area where the population is projected to rise from 182,000 people to more than 281,000 over the next 15 years.

The precinct is the latest in a strong portfolio of Large Format Retail projects for De Luca, with the company’s rich 25+ year history, commitment to relationships and lasting value making them a trusted partner in the industry.
