Check in and check out Bunnings Warehouse Doncaster

Residents in Doncaster can now access a wide range of home and lifestyle products, with Bunnings opening the doors to its newest warehouse.

The new store differs from the traditional format.

It has a white fin exterior in place of the familiar green warehouse style, and co-locates with the Mercure hotel which sits atop the store featuring 183 rooms, function rooms, a gym, restaurant, and an indoor pool.

Bunnings Doncaster represents an investment of more than $90 million and has created more than 170 new jobs in the local community, with around 40 existing team members transferring to the new store.

The multi-level warehouse spans more than 11,000 square metres and will have around 330 car parks for customers across two levels of basement parking.

Bunnings Director of Property and Store Development, Andrew Marks, said this is the first time Bunnings has developed a mixed-use project of this kind.

“Bunnings worked closely with Manningham Council throughout the development approval process to design and deliver this innovative development.

“We have always had store format diversity and we’re always looking for opportunities to evolve a store’s design where required, especially in inner city locations where land size is limited, but we’re particularly excited to show people what we’ve achieved at Doncaster.

“The unique building design required years of consultation with Council and lots of ‘out of the box’ thinking to address the Doncaster Hill planning outcomes, such as using the white fin exterior and lots of window glazing instead of the traditional green paint.

“The store has been ten years in the making and offers a convenient option for locals who have previously had to travel to Eltham, Nunawading, Hawthorn or Box Hill to access our range,” said Mr Marks.

Bunnings Doncaster will feature some of the newer in-store Bunnings concepts which are currently being rolled out across the store network to provide customers with more inspiration and an easier shopping experience.

This includes a Kitchen Design Centre, bathroom displays, new look trade service area, a wide range of site safety and workwear products in the one location, as well as an aisle for transport and moving needs.

It will also include familiar features such as the main retail area, timber and building materials yard, outdoor nursery, and a range of sustainability initiatives which will reduce its environmental impact.

“The building has achieved a 4 Star Green Star Design rating by including sustainability features such as solar hot water, LED lighting throughout, on site water recycling for nursery watering, on site water tanks, and we will soon be installing EV charging stations,” added Mr Marks.

Doncaster Complex Manager, John Zaccardi, said the team had been working flat out to get the store ready for opening day before Christmas.

“The team is so excited and can’t wait to welcome residents and tradies through the doors to see this amazing new store.

“We look forward to helping them with all their project needs ,” said Mr Zaccardi.

Bunnings Warehouse Doncaster is located at 659 Doncaster Road, Doncaster.
