Provincial Home Living celebrating 20 Years

Provincial Home Living is an Australian owned, furniture and homewares company, with a footprint of 34 stores around Australia and an impressive online presence.

It is still a family owned, and run business with sister and brother, Jade and Sascha (co-CEO’s) successfully steering the business.

“We are so proud of what has been achieved in the last 20 years, with the assistance of our Provincial family have helped make us what we are today,” said Jade.

“Relationships are important to us – our staff, our customers and our suppliers, in fact, some of the people who started with the company are still working with us.

“Our vision is still very much the same, with inspiration for our range of furniture, accessories and home wares is taken from enduring classics and timeless, understated elegance to design pieces that transcend oceans and centuries to fit into modern Australian lifestyles.”

The timeline of the company is interesting and is a testament to their commitment and enthusiasm.

Provincial Home Living’s founders purchased the Co-op in Wangaratta and restored the building to its former glory.

In 2002, with only one store left to lease, they decided to open a manchester and homewares store to help balance the retail mix, and so the very first Provincial Home Living store was opened.

Provincial had a fresh outlook on retail – instead of usual shelved spaces, the store was set up as a beautiful home.

There were bedrooms, dining rooms and kitchen setups displayed throughout.

This new approach to merchandising was readily embraced and gave Provincial the confidence to open another 3 country stores that year and then make a move to the city.

The first store in metro Melbourne was opened at Highpoint.  Then the journey really began, with sites being secured interstate and stores opening in Canberra, Adelaide, Sydney, and Brisbane.

In 2021, the first metro store (at Highpoint), was relocated to Maribyrnong and re-imagined into a large superstore with an inhouse Design Studio.

“Our business is always evolving, and we are always looking for new ways to assist our customers, so after a lot of feedback and cries for help, we launched our Design Studio in 2021,” said Sascha.

“Following an individual consultation with one of our Design Consultants our customers are given a mood board, and a list of suggested products tailored specifically to their individual aesthetic, lifestyle and budget.

“This service has been warmly embraced by our customers as it gives them confidence to try something new and re-imagine their homes.  Our business is about helping to turn houses into homes.”

It has obviously been a lot of hard work, passion and dedication for Provincial Home Living to come such a long way in 20 years, and there are no signs of them slowing down.
