Bedshed is the first homewares and furniture brand to obtain FRANdata 5-star rating

Bedshed has been independently assessed and recognised by FRANdata as a high performing brand through the Australian Franchise Rating Scale™.

The specialist bedding and bedroom furniture retailer is also the first brand to achieve this honour in the homewares and furniture category.

Approximately 75% of Bedshed franchisees voluntarily contributed to the FRANdata survey.

Bedshed Managing Director Gavin Culmsee is delighted to receive independent recognition.

“Nothing is more important to us than the success of our franchisees and every decision we make revolves around this objective.

“We are confident that we have built very strong foundations of success over 40 years of franchising and are very excited about continuing to grow the Bedshed network with franchisees who live and breathe the Bedshed values.”

FRANdata has built a set of standards to enable a consistent evaluation of Australian franchise systems.

For more than 30 years, FRANdata has been an industry leader in the strategic analysis, forecasting, and measuring of franchise performance and operations.

The Australian Franchise Rating Scale™ provides an independent and objective tool to help prospective franchisees, and their advisors, compare franchise systems.

This rating system recognises that renewed and enduring confidence in franchising requires a focus on performance and transparency.

The foundation of these standards is the objective measurement of performance across critical areas of a franchise system.

The performance outcome metric is a graduated star rating scale (with five being the highest).

Ratings are allocated following an independent and fact-based assessment across seven key categories:

  • System performance
  • Franchisee financial performance
  • Franchisee engagement and satisfaction
  • Franchisor training and support
  • Franchisor financial performance
  • Lender relations
  • Compliance and assurance

To be recognised as a 5-star brand, the franchise system must be able to demonstrate a high level of transparency and a very high level of franchise performance.

According to Darryn McAuliffe, CEO of FRANdata Australia, franchisee satisfaction was a standout feature of the Bedshed franchise system.

“A high level of franchisees reported that their financial expectations were being met in the franchise, and the overwhelming majority of franchisees indicated they would recommend the franchise to a friend or family member,” said Mr McAuliffe.
