Baby Bunting raises more than half a million dollars for Life’s Little Treasures Foundation

Almost sixteen percent of babies born each year in Australia are premature or sick, which means around 48,000 babies are admitted to Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) and Special Care Nurseries (SCN) every year.

For the families of these babies this is often one of the most stressful and challenging times of their lives as they navigate everything from medical terminology, commutes to be with their little one, absences from work, psychological wellbeing, and financial impacts.

Baby Bunting has raised over half a million dollars to support families of sick and premature babies through an eight-week fundraising campaign.

Partnering with non-profit organisation Life’s Little Treasures Foundation for a seventh year, customers shopping online and in person at any of Baby Bunting’s 66 stores were invited to donate to the cause.

Customers were invited to donate $2, $5 or $10 with each purchase and 100% of the funds raised go directly to Life’s Little Treasures Foundation, helping them to support families of sick and premature babies all around Australia.

Just $10 provides a family with the ‘Helping Hand’ booklet, which provides important information to support and empower families with little ones staying in the hospital.

Baby Bunting also partnered with suppliers to create a ‘donate and win’ competition for Baby Bunting customers, run over four weeks with more than $20,000 worth of prizes up for grabs from some of the biggest and best baby brands in Australia.

The campaign culminated in Life’s Little Treasures Foundation’s main fundraising event of the year, the annual Walk for Prems.

Walk for Prems takes place in six locations across Australia, as well as virtually, and each walk features a remembrance ceremony to honour those angel babies no longer with us, the walk itself, and kids’ entertainment to round out the morning.

Matt Spencer, CEO of Baby Bunting, said the partnership between Baby Bunting and Life’s Little Treasures Foundation has grown over the years.

“We know that our mission to support new and expectant parents doesn’t begin or end with products and services, which is why we are delighted to have had the opportunity to work closely with the foundation for another year.

“This partnership aligns closely with our own values at Baby Bunting and we are very proud to have developed such close ties with Life’s Little Treasures Foundation over our seven-year relationship.”

This result was the largest in the partnership’s rich history and will go a long way to help families access support and information in what is one of the most challenging periods of their lives.
