Treendale Home & Lifestyle Centre opens to strong trade in WA’s growth corridor

A new chapter in Western Australia’s retail landscape has begun with the official opening of the Treendale Home & Lifestyle Centre, a purpose-built Large Format Retail hub in Australind, that is already delivering impressive early results for tenants and investors alike.
Developed by Royal Oak Capital and located at 11 The Promenade, the centre completed handover to pre-committed tenants in March and is now fully trading. Transact Capital, which led the leasing campaign and has secured 87% occupancy, has also been appointed Managing Agent, a dual role that reinforces its commitment to delivering strong retail outcomes and operational excellence.
Alex Gismondi, CEO of Royal Oak Capital, said, “Royal Oak Capital is proud to have delivered a high-quality Home & Lifestyle Centre to the growing Australind and greater Bunbury communities.
This development was driven by our early recognition of a significant undersupply of new Large Format Retail in the region, alongside strong forecast population growth in both Bunbury and Australind.”
The 11,727m² centre offers a mix of showroom and retail formats, designed to meet the modern expectations of Large Format Retail shoppers. It includes 10 showroom tenancies and eight retail shop and food and beverage spaces, with zoning approval for both showroom and full retail uses.
Strategically positioned for maximum visibility, Treendale Home & Lifestyle Centre boasts major exposure to The Promenade and Grand Entrance and is directly linked by a covered walkway to the existing Woolworths Treendale Shopping Centre. It’s part of a wider precinct that includes a high-performing 13,700 sqm Bunnings, a 7,300 sqm Woolworths, and WA’s best-performing tavern, Treendale Farm Hotel.
“Bunbury has long been regarded as one of Australia’s top-performing regional cities, offering a highly attractive trading catchment for both national and local retailers,” Gismondi continued.
“Our vision was to create a centre that not only meets the demand from these retailers but also enhances the everyday shopping experience for the local community.”
The centre has been thoughtfully designed with a traditional Large Format Retail layout including Large Format facades, wide frontages, dual access and egress, rear loading for articulated vehicles, and more than 300 convenient on-grade parking bays. These features, combined with high daily needs foot traffic, have created fertile ground for tenant success.
Tenants including Petstock and Revo Fitness have already exceeded trading expectations in their first months of operation.
Gismondi added, “We’ve successfully integrated a diverse range of Large Format Retail tenants with a daily-needs supermarket offering, creating a complementary mix that has driven strong performance across the board.
“We’re thrilled that our tenants have exceeded their initial revenue forecasts, underscoring the strength of this location, the calibre of the retailers, and the value this development brings to the region.”
Located in one of WA’s fastest-growing residential corridors, the surrounding area currently includes 1,500 established homes with a further 2,400 lots proposed in the next 12 – 18 months. According to GapMaps and Deep End Services, the catchment of 102,332 people is expected to generate Large Format Retail spending of $648.8 million by 2031, up from $426.2 million in 2021/22, with spending levels 6.1% above the regional WA average.
Treendale Home & Lifestyle Centre is a significant addition to the Australind, Treendale, and greater Bunbury region, offering modern retail convenience, strong national brands, and the infrastructure to support future demand. Only two premium showroom spaces remain, as the centre positions itself as a premier destination in south-western Australia’s evolving retail map.
