Making play possible this Christmas with Good360
Christmas can be a joyful time, but for some families, it comes with difficult choices. Rising living costs mean that even parents working hard to provide for their children sometimes struggle to cover both essentials and gifts. Good360 Australia’s national Play Campaign, running from October to December, helps families access brand-new toys, games and creative items, ensuring children can experience play and joy alongside everyday life.
“Christmas time is not always a happy time for everybody, especially families finding it difficult to put food on the table and gifts for their children. I’ve seen parents in tears at the sense of relief and joy that they’re able to provide for their children. It’s more than just a present. It’s a moment for that family to come together.” Gateway Family Services
The campaign highlights the difference these gifts make. Through stories captured by Good360, children beam as they open LEGO sets or themed onesies, parents feel relief and pride in being able to give something special, and volunteers witness moments of connection that go far beyond a single present. These gifts support play, which is essential for children’s development, confidence and social connections, giving them the opportunity to thrive and participate fully with friends and peers.
While 3.8 million Australians do not have access to basic play items, around 4.5 billion dollars’ worth of new goods go unused in Australia each year, including unsold or returned stock in excellent condition, according to the Deloitte Access Economics Report 2025.
Since inception, Good360 has connected over 4.5 million toys and play items to families, reaching 804,000 individuals through more than 4,500 charity and school partners. Every ten dollars donated delivered around 200 dollars’ worth of new goods. By redirecting surplus stock in this way, Good360 enables retailers to turn unused resources into meaningful opportunities, with every item carefully matched to real demand and transparent reporting showing the impact of their support.
“Play is such an important part of childhood, supporting development, confidence and the social connections that help children thrive.” Clare Pearson, CEO of Little Wings
This year, Good360’s Play Campaign is proudly supported by Harvey Norman and IKEA Australia, two Large Format Retailers setting the benchmark for how the sector can use its scale for good. Their financial contributions help bring moments of joy and connection to families across the country. Their ongoing commitment reflects how the retail industry can work together to create real and lasting impact for people and the planet.

Good360 invites retailers and suppliers to support the Play Campaign through corporate sponsorship, customer donation initiatives, or team fundraisers, helping even more children experience the joy of play.
Together, the retail sector and Good360 can ensure every child has the chance to play, learn and experience happiness this Christmas.
