Mainbrace teams up to help tackle skin cancer in construction

Retail specialist Mainbrace Constructions has announced a multi-year partnership with Skin Check Champions to deliver skin cancer detection services across its construction sites and into the regional communities where it builds.

The partnership will deliver:

• On-site workplace skin check clinics across Mainbrace projects in NSW, Victoria and Queensland
• Regional and remote community skin check activations
• Deployment of Skin Check Champions’ mobile clinic, The Silver Bullet
• Access to The Scoreboard, a digital platform helping Australians assess their skin cancer risk, receive reminders, track their skin health activity and connect with local skin check providers.

The initiative is being delivered by Skin Checks Australia and is designed to improve early detection outcomes in the construction industry, where workers face higher exposure to ultraviolet radiation due to long hours spent outdoors.

Mainbrace Managing Director Rob Doust said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to the health and safety of its people, contractors and the communities in which it operates.

“Our people spend their working lives outdoors, building in some of the harshest conditions in the country,” Mr Doust said.

“Looking after their health isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s part of what it means to run a serious construction business in Australia.”

Mainbrace expects the program to extend access to skin checks to more than 500 workers and contractors and almost 1,000 regional community members in its first year.

The first Mainbrace and Skin Check Champions activations are scheduled to commence in July 2026.
