Jamie Guerra Joins Leedwell’s Expansion

Jamie Guerra has joined Leedwell Property as a Director and Equity Partner and has settled in his new role as National Commercial Property Leader.

Jamie joins Leedwell from JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle) where he was involved in more than $5 billion worth of transactions in the NSW and SA markets over the past 15 years.

He joins as a shareholder alongside Chris Parry, Managing Partner for Leedwell Property Victoria, and founding partners John Savva, Andrew Zammit and Steve Smith, who first formed the business in 2009.

Since then, Leedwell has grown to employ more than 45 staff across its Adelaide and Melbourne offices.

Steve Smith said Jamie’s arrival represented “a major milestone” in Leedwell’s strategic development.

“Over the past few years, we have focused on reshaping our business from its origins as a partnership into a corporate structure more capable of supporting the accelerated growth we are experiencing,” he said.

“Being able to bring someone of Jamie’s calibre and investment experience into the business is tremendously exciting, not only for the skills he brings but also the injection of ideas and opportunities.

“It also further strengthens our national focus. The opening of our Melbourne office in 2018 was the first major step in expanding to a national footing and has proven to be a winning formula.”

Since opening its Melbourne office Leedwell has continued to grow, including launching its industrial team with two new appointments during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the same time, Leedwell has successfully delivered three large format retail centres adding a further 30,000sqm of new floor space to Melbourne’s retail market.

“In a little over three years of trading in Melbourne, we have leveraged our strong footing and client base and have grown our business substantially. We have representation across the industrial and retail sectors, and we have delivered significant outcomes for some of Melbourne’s and Australia’s largest developers and investors,” Steve said.

“We see Jamie’s arrival as the next evolution of our national expansion and a strategic catalyst for continued growth and cross pollination between our two offices.”

Jamie has been involved in numerous notable transactions include the $565m MAC transaction across four states and 11 assets, the structured transaction for the $400m mixed development at the Central Market Arcade Redevelopment for Adelaide City Council and the investment of Straits Real Estate into Commercial & General’s $150m industrial portfolio.

Prior to working at JLL, Jamie was a Director of CBRE in South Australia, giving him more than 25 years working and leading teams in the two largest global commercial property firms.

“I was attracted to Leedwell’s client centric-approach and deep relationships the principals have built around focusing on the things that matter to clients,” Jamie said.

“I look forward to bringing my investment experience to a successful business, complementing the leasing and advisory expertise the Leedwell team are known for.”
