Bunnings opens two new stores in Victoria and gets approval for a NSW first

2021 is shaping to be an epic year for Bunnings with the popular hardware chain recently opening two new stores in Victoria, and one just granted planning approval in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Frenchs Forest, NSW

The massive five-storey Bunnings Frenchs Forest will span over 20,000 square metres and will be the first store in NSW to have three levels of retail and on-site parking for almost 400 cars.

“We’re pleased to receive approval for a new multi-level Bunnings Warehouse in Frenchs Forest and are currently reviewing the conditions,” said Bunnings Regional Operations Manager Alan Harvey.

“The construction cost is estimated to be approximately $48 million and the new store is expected to create over 130 team member jobs, as well as additional jobs throughout construction.

“While it is too early to confirm an opening date, we look forward to providing a wide range of home and lifestyle products to the Frenchs Forest community,” concludes Mr Harvey.

This store will be almost as big as the new $55 million Midland Warehouse in Perth’s northeast that opened in December.

It is the biggest Bunnings Warehouse in Western Australia spanning more than 21,000 square metres and on-site parking for 480 vehicles.

The new Frenchs Forest store will be located at the corner of Warringah Road and Allambie Road.

Seymour, VIC

Seymour residents can now access a wide range of home and lifestyle products when Bunnings opened the doors to its first local store in the rural town.

Bunnings Seymour has welcomed over 80 team members in total, with 75 of those being new local recruits.

The new smaller format store represents an investment of more than $9 million and spans more than 4,500 square metres.

Features include the main retail area, outdoor nursery with an undercover bagged goods and landscaping area and access to services such as key cutting, timber cutting, and a hire shop where customers can hire out products such as carpet cleaners and trailers.

Trade customers will have access to a new look Trade Desk and an undercover timber drive through with eight indoor car spaces for easy loading facilities. The store will also feature departments such as paint, gardening, outdoor leisure, plumbing, hardware, and kitchen displays.

Bunnings Store Manager, Ruben Anderson, who has been part of the Bunnings team for 12 years, said he was excited to bring a wide range of home and lifestyle products to Seymour residents and to invest in the local community by creating further jobs.

“The team’s been working flat out to get the new store ready and we can’t wait to welcome the local community through our doors,” Ruben said.

As part of the store opening, the team has already provided support to local community groups with product donations and hands-on support.

“Team members from Seymour have already worked together to assist in local community projects such as helping the Seymour Goranwarrabul House plant new veggie gardens for their community members to enjoy.

“The team have also offered a hand to The Salvation Army by refreshing their front gardens, making way for a children’s play area which will replace an empty unused space that was previously there.

“We look forward to providing more assistance to local community groups in the future,” Ruben said.

Bunnings Seymour is located at 63 Anzac Avenue, Seymour.

Melton East, VIC

The new $40 million store, which replaces the current Melton Warehouse, is welcoming more than 80 new recruits, in addition to the 165 existing team members transferring across.

Spanning nearly 18,000 square metres, the new Bunnings Warehouse Melton East is more than 5,000 square metres larger than the existing store and features an extra 200 car parks for customers.

Bunnings Melton East offers local customer an even wider range of home and lifestyle products and features many of the latest in-store concepts, including bathroom displays, a kitchen design centre with seven brand-new kitchen concepts, an artificial plant range, and a new power garden concept with ride on lawn mowers.

In a first for a Bunnings store in Victoria, it will feature a brand-new door selector display, a garage and wardrobe storage display, a new extended range of site safety, workwear and ladders all in the one location, as well as an aisle for transport and moving needs.

For tradies, it will also feature a new look trade desk, commercial paint range and a five-lane timber trade drive through.

Complex Manager Darren Green said the team are looking forward to providing customers with an updated and wider range of home and lifestyle products, backed by the best service.

“The team worked really hard to get the new store ready for opening and it’s been great to welcome local customers through our doors. We’re excited to bring an even better offer to the community.

“Customers will see some new concepts here at Melton East, designed to create an easier shopping experience, and to also give them more inspiration for their projects at home,” Darren said.

As part of the store opening, the team has already provided support to local community groups with product donations.

“So far, we’ve donated a shed, BBQ, umbrella and an outdoor setting to Hope Street Youth and Family Services so they can refresh their outdoor area. We also donated materials to the Blackwood Outdoor Specialist School so they can build a flying fox for the kids to enjoy,” Darren said.

“We look forward to providing more assistance to local community groups in the future,” Darren said.

The new Bunnings Warehouse Melton East is located on the corner of Keilor-Melton Road and High Street, Melton.
