Arise Developments Home HQ Busselton obtains DA and commences earthworks

Large Format Retail Association member, Arise Developments is well underway with its Home HQ Busselton Large Format Retail Centre, having recently secured Development Approval and commenced earthworks on site.

The development represents a significant investment in Western Australia’s southwest and the project’s scale, with a gross floor area of some 48,500 square metres, demonstrating the developer’s confidence in Busselton.

On completion the centre will be the largest single stage Large Format Retail development in regional WA and one of the overall largest projects in the state.

Designed by fellow Large Format Retail Association member Meyer Shircore, the centre has been carefully designed to enhance both vehicular and pedestrian flows, with large anchor tenancies positioned throughout the entire centre. The tenant mix has been carefully curated in a way that positions retailers into zones of complementary uses to ensure success for all.

As well as providing modern premises for retailers, the development also incorporates a café, playground, pocket park, wetland, and nature walk, features that add a unique, community-focused element to the site, offering both environmental benefits and recreational spaces for visitors.

Home HQ’s location, on the corner of the busy Busselton Bypass and Chapman Hill Road, places the site in a growing area identified by the City of Busselton for Large Format Retail expansion.

A focused off market leasing campaign by Paul Davison of Vend Property in conjunction with Arise Developments has seen phenomenal pre-commitments of approximately 81% of the Large Format Retail floorspace.

Home HQ Busselton’s development is set against the backdrop of significant regional growth. Demographic analysis provided by Deep End Services in late 2024 shows that Busselton is the fastest growing regional city in Australia (regional cities with populations 30,000 – 200,000).

The City of Busselton also has ambitious growth plans, supported by the recent expansion of the Busselton and Margaret River Airport, now positioned to cater for international flights, in addition to the direct services already operating to and from the east coast.

Adam Lisle, Managing Director, Arise Developments said, “We are very excited to bring this brand-new integrated Large Format Retail centre to the booming southwest region of WA.

“Both the residents and national retailers have been crying out for a high-quality centre in Busselton that meets their growing needs. Home HQ Busselton will be the gold standard in Large Format Retail centres nationwide and will be the new focal point of Large Format Retail in WA’s prosperous and in-demand southwest”.
